In December 1969 the president signed a proclamation marking January as National Blood Donor Month. The annual observance has been celebrated for over 50 years and honors the heroes that give lifesaving blood donations.
January was chosen because the winter months is typically a time when national blood donations drop due to holiday schedules, weather conditions and schools being on winter break.
As you set your goals for 2022 plan to donate blood or platelets every time you are eligible. Whole blood donors can give every 56 days up to 6 times a year. Platelet donors can give every 7 days up to 24 times within a 12-month period. Check out this blog post to learn the science behind these guidelines.
Hero In You In 2022 Challenge

Your challenge begins with your first donation in 2022. With each blood or platelet donation, you will receive a OneBlood gift and qualify for additional eGift card rewards every time you donate.
